Zipper

Little too fat flesh

Got you caught because when he called

I had to bolt for the door

Metal teeth do not taste and have no remorse for the pain

caused by a split second error in finesse

Just that he rang me up and without thought I had to get it together

Without consideration, and yes that’s the point and the metaphor,

until the pain became a reminder that this has happened before

expectations ripped open by disappointment

so that all the best years (the ones before 30) bled out

For him

That rusted contraption that keeps two pieces together

Even when the world would not fall apart

…if they did
