The Truth the Threads have Told

If I take the scissors and cut the threads

We have sewn, tying us body to body

cut away our connection just to see what will happen

Allow an unraveling of our connective tissues

Which have looped and stitched our lives inseparable

Until the daring comes to separate

With much pulling and ripping and pain

To see the stitches out, and there on the floor

Two immobile shrouds – pathetic, broken

Not much more than bundles of useless cloth
