I cannot miss your arms around me through the night, holding me close as we dream

I cannot miss your morning kisses, as we rise to greet the dawn together

I cannot miss the way you said, “I love you” – your eyes steadfast and true

No, I cannot miss you that way

I cannot miss what never was, only the memory of a hope of what never will be
